Fire Festivals
(This is an excerpt from a University Of Metaphysical Sciences course at www.umsonline.org,

In between the Equinoxes and Solstices are the four additional lunar-based celebrations considered sacred, and based on ancient Celtic festivals. They are also referred to as the four fire festivals and connect to major life periods and the experiences essential for each one. Again, it is obvious that some of these are closely related, or have been overlaid with Christian festivals.
These festivals are:
- Imbolc, on the eve of February 1 (the Christian Candlemass)
- Beltane, on the eve of May 1
- Lughnasadh, on August 1 (the Christian Lammas)
- Samhain, on November 1(the Christian All Soul’s Day)
