Tinnitis

Tinnitis is described as ringing, buzzing, hissing or other kinds of noises in the head that are not coming from the outside. Silence is unobtainable by the person with tinnitis. These sounds are directly caused by damage to the cochlea. This is usually permanent and is caused by nerve damage. One of the sources of these inner sounds is contraction of the ear muscles.
